Frequently Asked Questions
What are some benefits of massage?
Many people think massage is only used to treat muscle soreness and to get rid of "knots". It's also great for circulation, reducing swelling, helping with anxiety and depression, treating headaches/migraines, strengthening immune system, reducing blood pressure, and relieving pain.
Where are you located?
I rent a room in Southview Commons. It's located right across the street from Monroe Community College (MCC) and right next to Rustic Village. I'm in building 300, and suite #28. Once you're in the building, go down the elevator and turn right to find suite 28.
When should I arrive?
If it's your first appointment, please arrive 10 minutes early to complete some paperwork. If you're a returning client, please arrive 5 minutes early if possible. This way you'll have plenty of time to discuss your current problem areas and get settled on the massage table.
What if I have to cancel an appointment?
Please call me as soon as you realize you have to cancel or reschedule an appointment. I need a 24 hour notice (at least), or I have to charge you for your missed appointment ($25 cancellation fee).
What if I'm late to my appointment?
Please call me if you're running late. I will call you after 5-10 minutes, and leave after 15 minutes if I haven't heard from you. If your appointment is 4:00-5:00pm, it will end at 5:00pm. If you're late, that's taking time off of your appointment.
Can I get a massage if I'm pregnant?
Yes! Massage is very helpful during your pregnancy. However, it's often recommended to avoid massage during your first trimester and for a few months after you give birth. During your last two trimesters, massage can reduce pain and swelling and help you sleep!
Do I have to get completely undressed for the massage?
No. Although many people do remove all clothing, you only have to undress to your comfort level. Either way, you will be left alone to undress and then you will be properly draped during the entire massage.
Is there a weight limit?
My current table has a weight limit of 550 pounds. That includes about 50-100 pounds of pressure coming from me, depending on the massage pressure you prefer. If you weigh 450 pounds or more, contact me and we can figure out an option that works for you!
